Engaging documentation

I’m glad there are people out there who try to make online documentation interesting. Take the Drupal documentation, for example. It’s simple, easy to understand, and maybe even a little fun to read. Bottom line: it’s engaging, interesting stuff, and I don’t mind reading it.

We need more of that in this world. (You listening, Microsoft?) In Drupal’s case, I figure it has a lot to do with the open source nature of the project, which just goes to show that everything should be open source. (You still listening, Microsoft? Apple? Anybody?)

  1. I agree, too often there is too much red tape and worry about maintaining professionalism. It makes it so dry that no one even reads short announcement emails. Add a little spice, add a little life.
